Sticking to your work-week sleep schedule over the weekend or on holidays sounds like torture to most of us, but it’s actually a wise move where sleep is concerned. Staying up and sleeping in later than normal can shift your body’s natural clock, making it extra difficult to fall asleep when the holiday is over and it’s time to go back to work. To make your Mondays easier, keep the same schedule on the weekends that you do during the week. Your body will adjust, and you may find you don’t need that alarm clock at all any more.
So this Memorial Day, resist the temptation to sleep in, and make sure to get to bed at your usual hour. Your mind and body will thank you.
