The Holidays are coming up and everyone tends to overeat! Filling up on large meals and snacking late before bedtime can take a toll on your sleep. Try the following to promote great sleep. Avoid foods and beverages high in sugar and caffeine. They can keep you awake longer at night. Foods high in processed carbs can leave you feeling sluggish and tired during the day. Also, be sure to keep late-night snacking to a minimum. This can exacerbate acid reflux which makes getting to sleep or staying asleep difficult. Try eating complex carbs if you have to have a little something to eat before bed. Milk and cheese are great foods for promoting sleep.
